The Jetty Road Glenelg Masterplan was endorsed by the City of Holdfast Bay to guide the development of Jetty Road over the next decade. The masterplan retains the distinctive character of Jetty Road, while proposing new ideas and improvements that contribute to the precinct’s attractiveness and functionality.

Chapel Street & Hindmarsh Lane Development

The first stage of implementation of the Jetty Road Glenelg Masterplan is the Chapel Plaza and Hindmarsh Lane Upgrade which is on track for completion in October 2021.

The Chapel Plaza concept aims to create a new civic space for the local community in the heart of Jetty Road with seating, lighting, public art open spaces for community events and more trees. The upgrade of Hindmarsh Lane will provide improved pedestrian connections as well as an opportunity for additional new public toilets and a parent room and a Changing Places toilet for the profoundly disabled.

In June 2019, funding was awarded by the State Governments Places for People Grant that will be matched by a previous commitment by council to undertake construction.
