Sweet news for beachside dessert lovers! Iconic Australian gelateria, GelatoMessina, has officially opened their doors on Jetty Road, along Colley Terrace, right next door to sister venue Shadow Baking – giving locals and visitors the perfectexcuse to enjoy a scoop (or two) by the sea this summer.

Fans can look forward to 35 different gelato flavours alongside five rotating weekly specials. To celebrate the Glenelg opening, the gelateria is also launching an exclusive new flavour, “Glenelg Dreaming,” featuring coconut gelato swirled with mango sorbet, passionfruit topping, and baked meringue. YUM!!

But it’s not just about gelato by the scoop. The new store will also offer gelato cakes, house-made dulce de leche jars, and a selection of branded merchandise, perfect for gifts or a sweet keepsake.

Since launching in Sydney in 2002, Gelato Messina has grown into a culinaryphenomenon, with over 30 locations across Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Co-founder Nick Palumbo noted that Glenelg has long been a target for expansion, thanks to its family-friendly vibe, bustling dining scene, and steady stream of locals and visitors.
