On Saturday 26 October 2024, the iconic Glenelg Jetty will be transformed with a 63m long table running down the length of the pier, where guests will be seated and treated to a very special seafood dining experience.

Teaming up with renowned chefs Laura Sharrad, Shannon Fleming, and Max Sharrad, the inaugural Sea to Shore Long Lunch is a first-of-its-kind seafood dining experience at the Glenelg Jetty.

This year’s festival ambassador and MasterChef alumni, Laura Sharrad, is excited to be curating a menu for this first-of-its-kind dining experience for foodies and lovers of seafood.

“The Long Lunch is a new and exciting addition to the weekend-long Sea to Shore festival. For the first time ever, Glenelg Jetty will be transformed into a dining space, with stunning decor and delicious sustainably sourced seafood,” Laura said.

“We want guests to truly immerse themselves in this one-of-a-kind experience. Being able to dine ‘on top’ of the ocean at Glenelg Beach is something that has never been done before and I’m so excited to see this come to life.

“The sun shining down, the sound of waves crashing beneath, surrounding views of the ocean and Glenelg’s foreshore, and the smell of delicious seafood filling the air, it truly is an immersive experience not to be missed,” Laura continued.

“We want to continue showcasing everything that the South Australian seafood scene has to offer and by collaborating with the state’s top restaurants, producers, wineries and distilleries and the Sea to Shore Long Lunch is just another way we are achieving that.”
Amanda Wilson, City of Holdfast Bay Mayor

Laura and Max Sharrad of Fugazzi Bar and Dining Room and Nido Bar and Pasta, along with Shannon Fleming of Lot 100, have meticulously crafted the menu, which will feature a selection of two entrees, two mains, and Laura’s trademark and award-winning tiramisu.

Guests can expect a shared feast that will include entrée dishes of Two Gulfs Blue Swimmer Crab toast on malted focaccia with pickled cucumber, mussels, buttermilk, potato, and lemon myrtle.

The shared mains will include grilled whole ‘Robarra’, charred cos, as well as Coorong Mullet, ajo blanco, beach succulents and salmoriglio sauce.

As part of this unforgettable lunch, each dish will be expertly paired with exquisite wines from local South Australian winery Howard Vineyard and artisanal gin from Threefold Distilling, enhancing the flavours of each course.

City of Holdfast Bay Mayor Amanda Wilson is thrilled to bring this unique event to life and bring a sense of culinary magic to the Bay.

“Providing unique experiences to our visitors is something we pride ourselves on, and the Long Lunch is no exception. We are so proud to be bringing this unique event to the shores of Glenelg. Indulging in a delicious lunch, coupled with local wine and gin, all while watching the waves crash along Glenelg Beach, is going to be incredible,” Mayor Wilson said.

“We want guests to truly immerse themselves in this one-of-a-kind experience. Being able to dine ‘on top’ of the ocean at Glenelg Beach is something that has never been done before and I’m so excited to see this come to life. "
