Ashleigh and Paul saw a gap in the carwash industry and set up The Wash Luxury Car Care in Glenelg. Boasting immaculate service, a cute café, and delicious food, they make washing your car a real boutique experience.
How did you start your business?
In 2005 we realised there was nothing like this in the market. Paul is a real car lover and was watching some other car wash businesses and thought he could do it better! We started with our first store at Unley and he was just looking for another site and decided to branch out to Glenelg.
Why do you love Glenelg?
We lived locally and I used to call Glenelg ‘The Bubble’. Everyone used to say that I never left Glenelg and it's true! Glenelg has everything that you really need in one spot, that's the best part about it. It's like a little bubble that you never need to leave.
What are the services you offer?
We offer interior and exterior cleaning and also car detailing. We also have The Club, which is like a gym membership for your car. You pay a monthly membership fee from $60 in different tiers and spoil yourself and your car with unlimited washes. We also have an onsite café that serves food, great coffee so you can relax while you wait.
What makes a great car wash service?
The first bonus is not having to do it yourself! Our professional service and getting your car in and out efficiently is key. Another popular service is car sanitising. We can sanitise your car with steam, it kills 99% of bacteria on contact so we do a lot of that. We hit all the high traffic areas, like your handles, steering wheel, and console areas. We pay a bit more attention to detail and our service is more personalised. We have a community of regular customers, we know them all by name, it's a more intimate and boutique service.
You have an onsite café, what are some must try items from the menu?
We have good consistent coffee, and we use a local South Australian roaster, Patio. Customers are more than welcome to just visit the cafe and grab a snack and a coffee with no carwash. We also have lots of gluten-free and healthy options too. Our smoothies would also be a must-try.
