Accessible Beach Day events allow wheelchair users and people with mobility difficulties the opportunity to access the beach safely.

Beach matting will be laid out on the sand, providing access across to the water and there will also be beach wheelchairs, beach walkers, and the Mobi-Chair floating wheelchair available, subject to bookings. PQSA and Push Mobility volunteers and Occupational Therapists will be on hand throughout the day to provide support.

When are the Accessible Beach Days?

Six Accessible Beach Day events will be held in Glenelg this summer, between December 2023 and March 2024. Each event will be held between 10am – 2pm.

Where is the event?

The access point can be found 200 metres north of the Glenelg Jetty, providing entry to Glenelg Beach, which will be made fully wheelchair accessible.

It will be easily identifiable with signage and marquees at Brian Nadilo Reserve.

Who can attend the event? Is there a cost to attend?

The beach mat is accessible to everyone attending.

The beach wheelchairs are free to use. Bookings are recommended.
