The Coromandel was the first ship bringing settlers from the United Kingdom to South Australia to arrive in 1837, after ten settler vessels had come out during 1836. Join author, Bill Othams as he discusses how its arrival marked a change in policy regarding the employment of the labourer emigrants given free passage to South Australia. He will be talking about those labourers, their fellow passengers and the Coromandel crew members who settled here.
